Competition Rules and Guideline

Competition Rules

  • The competition is open to all undergraduate CSIT, UPM and International students.
  • The innovation product must be original and not similar to any existing ideas or systems.
  • Participants must select the correct categories. However, the organizer has the authority to change the participant’s category depending on its suitability.
  • The registration can be either individual or group.
  • Submission must include a completed Poster, Demo Video and a Payment Slip as proof during the registration.
  • Top Ten (10) shortlisted participants will be called for pitching session that will be held on 11th February 2026 for a TOP 3 and best project award.
  • The selected participants will be called for a poster presentation session that will be held on 11th February 2026 for a TOP 3 and best poster awards.
  • No refunds will be issued if participants wish to withdraw from the competition.
  • Jurys’ decisions are final.
  • Use English language for poster and FYP demo video.

FYP Poster Format

  • Each poster must follow the following specifications:
    1. Each submission must submit One (1) poster.
    2. Please follow the poster template.
    3. Please ensure that all submitted posters and project videos are publicly accessible and do not require access requests.
    4. The Innovation Poster must include the following mandatory sections:

  1. Title of Innovation Product/Project
  2. Authors Name/Affiliations (Student, Supervisor)
  3. Abstract
  4. Objective
  5. Method
  6. Value Added
  7. Usefulness
  8. Innovation Product/Project Impact / Commercial Potential
  9. Acknowledgement

Video Submission Guideline

  • Length: Keep your video presentation concise. Aim for a duration of 3-5 minutes to maintain the viewer's engagement.
  • The Final Year Project (FYP) must be completed or nearing completion.
  • Content Structure: Organize your video presentation in a logical and structured manner including one (1) demo video showing how the system operates, its main features, and performance. The video must include Project Title and Members Name.
  • Narration: Provide audio narration script for your video presentation. Ensure your audio narration is clear, well-paced, and free from background noise. Use a good-quality microphone if possible.
  • Visual and Audio Quality: Make sure your video and audio are of high quality. Use appropriate lighting and ensure that the video is stable.
  • Music and Sound: If you choose to include music, make sure it enhances the video rather than distracting from it. Check for copyright and licensing restrictions if using copyrighted music.
  • Editing: Edit your video to remove any unnecessary pauses, mistakes, or irrelevant content. Use video editing software to enhance the visual and auditory quality.
  • Transitions: Use smooth transitions between sections or ideas to maintain the flow of the presentation.
  • Branding: If your institution or project has a specific branding, ensure that it is consistent throughout the video.
  • File Format and Submission: Maximum size is 100MB in MP4 format. Rename the demo video to (MatricNo_Category). eq (12345_SE).
  • The demo video must include Project Title, Members Name, Project features.

Pitching Session Guidelines

  • Only the top 10 groups from each competition category will be eligible to compete in the finals.
  • The duration of the presentation for each group is 15 minutes and for the question-and-answer session is 5 minutes physically.
  • Provide slides of the innovation presentation in Microsoft Power Point/Canva format.
